Weekend Event: Edwardian Ball and Faire
Of all of the many unique San Francisco events, one of the most interesting is the Edwardian Ball and Faire. The fun begins tonight, Friday January 21st at 8PM, and continues tomorrow evening at the lovely Regency Ballroom. We've attended the last couple of years, and it's always a fascinating event, with a truly local feel. Each night features slightly different events- a combination of live music, theatre, dance, circus arts, and art from Edward Gorey.
It's a very steampunk event, with most attendees in costume, and plenty of vendors available offering a selection of appropriate gifts, gizmos, and fashion accessories. Think a dark cabaret, twisted through a Victorian hybrid of science fiction and fantasy. Burning Man meets Alice in Wonderland. We can't recommend it highly enough- for adults. Ticket prices range from $28 to $85, and are available online.
